Mary was born in Dixon, Illinois to Frederick and Johanna Giese on December 17, 1929. She spent her formative years in Dixon, where she graduated from high school, before moving to Miami, Florida. It was in Miami that she met and married her husband, Gordon Craig.
Mary enjoyed making a home for her family, raising her five children, and especially, tending to her gardens. Mary and Gordon spent their retirement years in Stuart, FL and were members of First United Methodist Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Johanna Giese; and her loving husband of 65 years, Gordon Craig. She is survived by her sons Michael (Jennie) Craig of Stuart, FL and Steven Craig of Titusville, FL; daughters Julie Craig of Nashville, TN, Cynthia Chavez of Nashville, TN, and Susan (William) Morris of Belleview, FL; bothers Robert Giese and Kenneth (Barbara) Giese, both of Dixon, IL; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 3pm - 5pm at the Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN.
