Mary Elizabeth Cheek

Mary Elizabeth Cheek age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Hermitage on October 24, 2017, surrounded and loved by her family. Liz was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend to many. Her kind, sweet, smart, generous spirit will be remembered forever by those who loved her the most.

She is preceded in death by parents, Zolly & Annie Mae Stafford; siblings, Donald Stafford, Bill Stafford, Jude Fargo. She is survived by her loving children, Patrick (Michele) Cheek, Mike (Tammy) Cheek, Lisa Slate; grandchildren, Jonathan Biggs, Ryan Biggs, Bailee Cheek (Trey) Bridwell, Bradley Cheek, Jackson Slate; 2 great grandchildren, Oliver Biggs, Jay Bridwell; sisters, Bobbie Marler, Debbie Stafford and a host of family and friends.

She was adventurous and traveled all over the world. She was brave, and spirited and moved a young family to Belgium in the 1970’s, giving her children a sense of unlimited abilities. She worked hard, and had a great career at Delta Dental of TN, retiring after more than 25 years of service to the company.

She spent the rest of her years enjoying life to the fullest, traveling with family and friends, and was always ready for a new adventure at the mention of an idea.

Visitation will be Friday October 27, 2017 from 1pm until 8pm, and Saturday 11 am until time of the funeral service at noon in the Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Biggs, Ryan Biggs, Bradley Cheek, Jackson Slate, Trey Bridwell, and Chris Hughes.
