Marie L. Adcock

Marie L. Adcock, age 87 from Goodletsville, TN, became free from her struggles with heart disease Friday, December 4, 2015. She was born to the late Gradon Lankford & Irene Clifton Lankford in Dickson County on May 20, 1928. She grew up in Dickson along with Herbert Thomas Adcock who she married after her graduation from Dickson High School in May 1946. After short periods in Tulsa, OK & Memphis, TN, they made their home in Nashville and Hermitage where they raised their family. Herbert (Bert) passed away in 2007 after 61 years together. In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was predeceased by her brother, George E. Lankford. She leaves her three children; Jeri (Terry) Cook of Ridgetop, TN, Thomas G. Adcock of Memphis, TN and Stanley (Michele) Adcock, Jr of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Joe (April) Adcock of Seattle, WA, Steve (Daysha) Adcock of Murray, KY and Amelia Marie Adcock of Memphis, TN.; great-grandchildren, Abby & Matthew Adcock of Murray, KY.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, December 7, 2015 at Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Arterburn officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Members of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Hermitage Funeral Home.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff at Brookdale Sterling House Assisted Living in Goodletsville, TN and Avalon Hospice for their compassionate care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to honor Marie by doing random acts of kindness to those in need.
