Louis Dixon Thompson

Louis Dixon Thompson, age 82, passed away on January 14, 2021 after suffering a massive stroke. Louis was born on January 24, 1938 in Mt. Juliet, TN to the late Robert and Odis Boner Thompson. He was preceded in death by Wilma Thompson, his wife of 62 years.

Louis and Wilma owned and operated Thompson Wholesale Florist in Nashville, TN for 35 years. He loved Vanderbilt football and basketball. He had season tickets for over 35 years and rarely missed a game.

Louis is survived by his children, Lisa and James Murphy, Louis Jr. (Bubba) and Karla Thompson; grandchildren Larissa Beecher (Adam), Jessica Wiedner (Tim), Olivia O’Conner (Shawn), Daniel Thompson (Amy), Logan Thompson; five great-grandchildren; and a special four-legged friend named Foxy.

Louis is also survived by brothers Lee Thompson and James Thompson (Sue); and sister Pat Davenport.

The family will be receiving friends and family for visitation at Hermitage Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with a graveside service to follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Daniel Thompson, Logan Thompson, Shawn O’Conner, Adam Beecher, Tim Wiedner, Baxter Hamilton.
