Laura M. Beard

Mrs. Laura Mae Ferrell Beard died peacefully on April 12, 2024 in Severna Park, Maryland. Born on July 20, 1932 to Claude Lee Ferrell, Sr. and Pauline Ruth (Sliger) Ferrell. Laura was a longtime resident of Burns, Tennessee. Laura and her husband were charter members of the former Eastside Baptist Church. She was a lifelong artist, teacher, and owner of Laura’s Loft in Burns, Tennessee.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Beard; her father, Claude Lee Ferrell, Sr.; her mother, Pauline Ruth (Sliger) Ferrell; three brothers Claude Ferrell, Paul Ferrell, and Bill Ferrell.

Laura is survived by her son, Gary Wayne Beard (Beth) of Colfax, LA; by her daughter, Karen Denise Beard Gray of Pasadena, Maryland; grandchildren Gary Wayne Beard, Jr. (Kate), Allison Gray Clarke, Christopher Andrew Beard (Jane), Nicholas Alan Beard (Allison), Ashley Gray Fisher (Cody); and nine great grandchildren Carter, Tanner, Madeline Clarke, Lucas, Brayden, Colter, Anna, Emme and Lauren Beard.

There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5pm - 7pm, and on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11am - 12pm in the Andrew Visitation Room at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home. Following the service, Laura will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Apostles at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
