Larry J. McWhirter passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 following a very serious illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, M.M. and Mildred McWhirter; sisters, Nancy McWhirter and Patricia McWhirter Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Janet McWhirter; sons, Zachary and wife Carly; Joshua and wife Christy; grandchildren, Brooke, Liam, Owen, Jameson and Elias McWhirter.
Larry was a member of Donelson Church of Christ for 44 years, serving many of those years as a Teacher, Deacon and Elder.
He served as Councilman for the 14th District in Donelson from 1985-1991. He worked hard to help neighborhoods deal with airport noise and other issues.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 pm Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Donelson Church of Christ, 2706 Old Lebanon Rd, Nashville, TN. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Hermitage Funeral Home and from 11:00 am until time of the service on Thursday at the Church.
