Larry was a sales representative for DuPont & Remay Inc. and retired after 41 years of service. After retirement Larry went on to work as a Staff Associate for Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Larry was a faithful member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ where he was active in many facets of the church. Larry had many interests including golf, fishing, watching and caring for his Purple Martins and church but his family was most important to him. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by his loving family and by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his sister Nora June Clemons, his father Leslie Pruitt Clemons, his mother Theda Maxine Clemons and great grandson AJ Ruiz. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Linda Clemons, his children Tracey Hacker (D.Y.), Lori Sprouse, Kelley Vingson (Jon), and two stepsons Todd Huffine (Melanie) and John Huffine (Kristi), 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation to Summit Hospital, their doctors, nurses and technicians who took care of Larry during his last few weeks.
There will be a gathering of family and friends for Larry on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138 and on Friday January 27th from 9:00 am until 10:00 am with his Celebration of Life at 10:00 am in the chapel with Craig Evans and Tim Martin officiating. Following the service, Larry will be laid to rest at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum III.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Oldham, Ron Barnes, Ron Shelton, Russell Yost, Ken Schauer and John Dedmon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ Benevolent Fund.
