John "Jack" Hunt

Jack was born on May 13, 1937 in Culpeper, Virginia to Russell Hunt and Sarah Dwyer. He met and married Patricia Mae Hough on February 6, 1957. They were married 55 years until her passing in 2012. He is preceded in death by his four siblings: Russell, Bradford, David, and Betty Fant.

John worked at Jack Klawans Chevrolet Dealership as a Comptroller in Woodbridge, Virginia until retiring and moving to Old Hickory to be closer to family. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. One of his highlights was being at the hospital when his Great Grandson, Ezra, was born.

Jack started playing the guitar when he was eight years old. His Mom helped him put money down for his first guitar, and that's the one he played ever since. He enjoyed all genres of music, from Country to Oldies, and he loved going to Third and Lindsley to listen to music. Chet Atkins was his favorite guitarist, and he was always practicing and learning new songs. Jack enjoyed playing at the Senior Dinners at Nashville First Church, and he had some friends that he "jammed" with on a regular basis. They were a true blessing and great friends to him, and they played together just a few weeks before he passed away. He talked about that and loved it! Thank you Jack Griffin, James Hackney, and Pete Peterson. He also loved his church and his Ambassador Sunday School Class.

Jack is survived by daughter Pam (Pete) Johnson, Grandson Eric (Casey), Granddaughter Erin, Grandson Brian (Shelby), Great Grandson Ezra, Sisters-in-Law Alice Jerrell, Janet Tyson, and Shirley Hunt. Plus many nieces and nephews who will miss their Uncle Jack.

Service is Friday, February 22 at 2:00 in Heritage Chapel

Interment to be held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens
