Jimmy Douglas Owen

OWEN, Jimmy Douglas, age 73 of Hermitage TN passed away on August 10, 2011. He was born in Cannon County, TN to the late Oscar and Vera Pearl Owen. Mr. Owen retired from the Nashville Ford Glass Plant and the Nashville Auto Auction, and was a member of the UAW. He was a member of Lebanon Road Church of Christ. He enjoyed auto racing, classic cars, his grandchildren’s sporting events, and his beloved dog, Sydney. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Ruth Hill Owen; children Sherry (Brian) Murray and Kevin (Lezlee) Owen; four grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Murray, Jessica and Jake Owen; his brother, Charles (Gladys) Owen; and close friends Carlos and Freida Denny. The family is grateful to Alive Hospice and their caring staff, especially nurses Freida and Victoria.Visitation will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home on Thursday August 11 from 4-8 p.m.and again on Friday 12 noon to 2:00. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 2:00 at the funeral home, with Bro. Harry Middleton officiating, immediately followed by interment at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Ronnie Oakley, Jim Oakley, Steve Ledbetter, Frank Cornell, Earl Flynn and Bill Ross will serve as Pallbearers.
