Jimmy George Baber passed away December 26, 2022. Jimmy graduated from Higginsville High school in 1967, later that year he enlisted in the United States Marines Corp. He served in Vietnam from 1967-1975. He was wounded on August 19, 1967 in Dodge City, Vietnam and again on November 22, 1968 on Hill 55 South of Danang, Vietnam. He was the recipient of two purple hearts. After the Marines Jimmy owned and operated Baber Group Landscapers in Destin Florida. His employees were his second family and he enjoyed cooking for them. He was a dedicated runner throughout his life. In his free time he enjoyed the beach, and daily Bible study.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly (Ken) Popovits; grandchildren Abby Popovits and Joey Popovits; siblings John Mark (Ron Lorenz) Satterwhite, Connie Lynn (Mike) Gauthier, Paul Franklin (Wendy) Satterwhite, and Pamela Ann (Paul) Menefee; nieces and nephews Brandon W. (Jennifer) Bornstein, Kelsey (Ashton) Tate, Kendra Satterwhite, Emma McMillen, Grace McMillen; great nieces Cecile, Jolene, Riley and lifetime childhood friend Tom Daniels.
Mr. Baber is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Minnie Kaeding; parents Wanda and Harry Satterwhite; father Mack Ray Baber and brother Gregory Ray Satterwhite.
Gathering of family and friends from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday December 31, 2022 at Hermitage Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00am in the Tulip Grove Room. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
