Jerry attended Litton High School. He served in the United States Army and was a reservist in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple. He raised funds for the children’s hospital and also brought joy to many as a Shrine Clown known as Lollipop. Jerry was one of founding fathers of Dixieland BMX Raceway, now known as Music City BMX. He retired with over 35 years with Nashville Electric Service and was the owner of Trans South Securing Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James Moore, Victoria (Poole) Hand and a brother Micky Howell. Jerry is survived by his wife Neldia Moore, Son, Randy Moore, daughters Kimberly Hornsby, Traci (Rick) Rury and Gina Moore, a brother Ricky Howell and sisters, Anita (Joe) Offutt, Carol (Homer) Hunter and Kathy (Johnny) Webb. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday August 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory. Saturday August 20, visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service at 11:30 in the Tulip Grove Chapel. Entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. www.shrinerschildrens.org
