Jerry B Wilburn Lane, 79 of Lebanon, TN passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2024 in Lebanon, TN. Jerry was born on January 14, 1945 in Nashville, TN to his parents Waymon Curtis Lane and Essie Lee Jones Lane who both preceded him in death.
Jerry was raised in the Nashville area and was a graduate of East High School in Nashville. He also attended Trevecca Nazarene University, afterwards he went into the military serving in the Army National Guard. After going Inactive with the National Guard, he joined 2 uncles and went to work at Texas Eastern Transmission Gas Pipeline and was also part of its construction in Texas and Pennsylvania. When he returned home, he started a career as a pipe fitter and was a member of UA Pipefitters, Plumbers, Welders and Service Technician, Nashville Local 572 which he proudly retired from after 40 years of service. During his career he met and married the love of his life Sylvia Sullivan Lane. Together they enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques which lead them to open the Memory Lane of Hermitage Antique Mall which they ran for over 5 years. He was a member of Mt Olivet Baptist Church. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
Jerry is predeceased by his mother and father Waymon Curtis and Essie Lee Jones Lane, by his son Jeffrey Sean Lane and his brother Waymon Curtis Lane Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Sylvia Sullivan Lane, by his sister Sandra Joe (Eddie) Lane Webb, his nephew Timothy Grant (Laura) Webb, his nephew Monty (Norma) Lane and their daughter Emily Grace Lane, and Dean Curtis Lane, his wife and 2 children, his sister-in-law Nancy Lane and his special cousin Glen (Paulette) Biggers and their children Harley Ray Biggers and James Dalton Biggers and a host of other relatives.
Jerry was laid to rest in a private graveside ceremony at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. The family has kindly requested that no flowers be sent, and that Memorial Contributions be made to the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center 670 Coles Ferry Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087 with which Jerry was very active and involved in.
