Jackie was born in Wakita, Oklahoma on February 29, 1948. As a leap day baby, Jackie was more than willing to remind you that she had only had 18 birthdays.
She graduated from Wakita High School and attended Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma. In 1990 she moved to Nashville where she received her license to become a respiratory therapist. She retired in 2016 after working for many years at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. Jackie touched many lives, especially those of her family and patients. She was a proud aunt to Austin, Allison, Bob, Bradley, Denise and Devren. She spent many hours attending their various sporting and school events. Jackie always loved animals and over the years she loved her pets Katie Ann, Molly, Burt, and Goldie who were her constant companions.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnne Long and her father John Ransom. She is survived by stepfather Bob Long (Carole), brothers Bruce Long (Jill) and Chris Long (Libby), and sister Diane Moreno.
Jackie will be buried on Aug 30th in a private ceremony at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 16th from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the home of Bruce and Jill Long: Creekwood Court, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Jackie’s memory to the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, 765 Nonaville Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
