Hollis Edward Huffines

Hollis was born in Jackson County, TN on September 16th, 1935 and was the first child of the late Rymon and Faydell Huffines. Hollis cherished his role of being the “Big” brother of Prentice Huffines, the late Ronnie Huffines and Jeanette Huffines Walpole.

Hollis is survived by the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Ann Womack Huffines. They have three children Joey Huffines, Rick Huffines and Greta Hicks, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Hollis attended Tennessee Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. Hollis served proudly as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Naval Aviator wings in April of 1961 and flew support missions in Viet Nam. Hollis returned home after his service to Country where he worked and retired from the DuPont Company in Old Hickory, TN and Kinston, NC.

Hollis loved the adventure of life, his bride Pat for 57 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved serving his church, Grace Place, in Hermitage, TN where he and Pat focused on youth and community service.

Visitation with the family will be at the Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN, 37138, on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at Grace Place, 4316 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076, from 10:30am to 11:00am.

A public Memorial Service will be held at Grace Place, 4316 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076, with Military Honors on Wednesday October 5th, 2016 from 11:00am until noon with Associate Pastor Owen Snyder officiating.
