Hiram Delmar (Dale) Oxley

OXLEY, Hiram Delmar "Dale"Went to be with his Lord on September 30, 2011. He was born in Flint, Michigan on February 23, 1926. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jeanne Oxley, who faithfully cared for him during his long illness. He is also survived by his five children, Kathleen Oxley Lee, Brian Dale Oxley, Timothy John Oxley, Daniel Paul Oxley, and Chris Douglas Oxley; fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Dale served his country proudly and honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII. He graduated from Wheaton College, receiving his BA and Master's Degree in Biblical Literature. He returned to Japan and served God, with his wife, as missionaries for 50 years. He loved the Japanese people and leaves behind the continuing work of five churches and a Bible Camp in Kyushu, Japan. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., October 3, 2011 at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens with Rev. Byron Yawn officiating. Entombment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bible Church, 6005 Edmondson Pike, Nashville, TN 37211 for the work in Japan.
