I knew Gwen in Memphis in the 1970s and 1980s.  She was a good friend and I will always remember her generosity of spirit and love for her family.  She will be very much missed.  My sincere sympathies to David

This is a picture that resembles the love and great memories that Aunt Gwen created for my children and my nieces and nephews.  For years Aunt Gwen had a special surprise for the kids every time we would visit...Beanie Babies!  She loved them and knew that they would too!  Each year, they carefully picked out the one that they would take home.  Last year, my kids gathered them all up and took a picture of the family of Beanie Babies that reminded them of her.  Now this picture has a whole new meaning.  It's a reminder of her love and generosity.  I will miss you Aunt Gwen, XOXOXO

Kevin, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May happy memories of your sweet Mom help you through this difficult time.  Heaven has a new and special guardian Angel watching over all of you.

I had the honor of working with Gwen for almost five years in Memphis.  I considered Gwen to be a great friend.  She will always be known for the deep love she had for her family and her loyalty to her friends.  I am very sad to hear that she has passed.  My prayers are with her family and friends.

I knew Ms. Hurd when I was fresh out of college and worked briefly for Gov. Sundquist's office. She was a spirited lady and well-loved by the Governor's staff. My deepest condolences to her family.

Meemaw was such a special lady and will always have a special place in my heart. I am so lucky to have had her in my life.  It is difficult to believe that she is not here but because of her giving personality, I have a mountain of wonderful memories. My children were so blessed to have her as a grandmother.
