George A. Shipman, age 73 of Brentwood, TN passed away Monday, February 1, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, PA to Herbert Shipman and Abigail Shipman (Raymond) Faust, George is survived by his wife, Lynne Barrett Shipman; daughters, Laura Lee (Ronald) Clark, Pamela Ann Sheets and Ann Marie (James) Wasko; grandchildren, Gregory Michael (Christine) Sheets, Daniel Adam, Abigail Kathleen and Zachary Evan Wasko; great grandchildren, Madison Grace and Sadie Belle Sheets; step-children, Stephanie (Gregory) Barrett-Davis and Sean Barrett McElroy. Mr. Shipman was retired from American Airlines as V.P. of Air Frieght and later retired from the International Marketing Division of the United States Postal Service in Washington D.C. Memorial services were held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Bennison officiating.
