George W Butterworth Jr., age 73, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
George was born on November 17, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Hume-Fogg Technical and Vocational High School in 1965, George served in the United States Air Force. He returned to his hometown after serving his country. Before his retirement in 2008, George worked at Peterbilt Motors for 37 1/2 years. He was a member of East End United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending his time volunteering at church and enjoying his hobbies - especially fishing and restoring vintage cars - but nothing gave him more joy than helping others and spending time with his family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Butterworth, Sr., and Ethel Liebfritz Butterworth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Linda (Helton) Butterworth; daughters Jennifer (Bret) Harris and Leigh Anne (Chris) Sobczyk; grandchildren Kevin Harris, Keith (Sonel) Harris, Connor Sobczyk and Kaleb Harris; great-grandchildren Lilly and Wesley Harris.
