Gail was born January 20th, 1945 in Troy, NY. She was the oldest child of John J. Vetter (deceased) and Christina E. (Davin) Vetter. She is survived by her sisters Darlene Ann (Thomas) Merwitz, Inverness FL. and Michele Vetter (Tom Sills), Nashville, TN.
Gail attended school in Upstate New York and was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, NY. Class of 1963. Gail was very well liked, had many friends and liked playing the flute. She enjoyed many outdoor activities with friends and family such as boating, fishing, swimming, camping and cooking along with sledding and ice skating in the winter. Gail is fondly remembered for her love of a good bargain, yard sales and being an excellent cook.
In 1966 Gail married E4 Lance Corporal, Edwin Redden, Jr. (deceased 1997) of Watervliet, NY. They enjoyed participating in many activities together such as The Marine Corps League, Toys for Tots and other community activities. Eventually they moved to Ocala, FL where she was instrumental in saving the Oklawaha Wildlife Reserve and after several years in Florida, they later moved to Tennessee and lived in Donelson. After her husband's death, Gail lived in Cookeville, Monterey and Manchester, TN. In her later life, Gail took care of many people. Along with many years working in the medical field in medical records and assisting, she devoted herself to helping and giving care to those who were not able to do so for themselves. She was a considerate, kind, caring and compassionate provider of care to many and anyone in need.
Gail is survived by all five of their children. April Jean (John) Flansburg, of McMinnville, TN., John Edwin (Elizabeth) Redden, of Hillham, TN., Edwin William (Shelly) Redden, of St. Paul, MN., Jason Patrick Redden of Manchester, TN., and Matthew Christopher (Jessica) Redden of Clearwater, FL. She has 16 grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Drew, John, Tyler, Bryce, Genevieve, Samantha, Quinton, Hunter, Savannah, Emily, Olivia, Eli, Brody and Amelia and 06 great-grandchildren, Stella, Trevor, Luna, Jameson, Riley and Calista and many,many nieces and nephews who love her and will miss her dearly.
Gail died peacefully at the home of her youngest sister, with the love and care of her three oldest children and other family members who shared her journey with her.
Gail's family will say their final farewells Monday, March 1st, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Hibbett-Hailey Funeral Home in Donelson, TN. with a prayer service by Deacon Mike Wilkins from Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Gail's family asks that you remember and honor her by making a donation in her name to Alive Hospice, Nashville who helped make this final journey so very caring and peaceful.
She is loved. She will be missed. She is remembered.
Her watch is ended. She was greeted at the Rainbow Bridge. She is at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone on before her, sharing in the Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
