Frances S. Carver

Frances was born October 20, 1920 in Nashville, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of the late Ernest Beard Smith and Lucile Loser Smith. She was preceded in death in 2001 by her husband of fifty-seven years, Aubrey Price Carver, and her sister, Betty Ann “Betsy” Fox.

Frances became a member of Donelson First Church in 1949. She is one of their oldest members. She had been attending the Chapel at McKendree Village since her residence at McKendree in 2003. She was a past member of Old Hickory Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and growing beautiful flowers in her yard. She also loved to entertain her many friends.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Kay Hinkle (Ed) of Knoxville, TN; nieces Gayle Thomason (Marvin) of Travelers Rest, SC, Jackie Clark (John) of Naples, FL, Betsy Clayton (Alan) of Atlanta, GA, Nancy Presson (Dillard) of Nashville, TN; and one nephew, Barry Sanford (Gloria) of Hermitage, TN.

The family would like to express our deep appreciation to McKendree Village and Adoration Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion for Frances.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 23 in the Garden of Cross at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frances’ memory to Donelson First Church, 2526 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37214.
