POINTS, Floyd Monroe Age 91, born in Dry Ridge, KY June 14, 1921, and died in Nashville, TN on March 13, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Ella Points; his brother, Clifford Points, and his beloved wife, Rebecca Stephenson Points. Survived by his daughter, Romelle Henry; two grandsons, Mike (Kerrie) and David (Traci) Henry, and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his two precious feline "girls," Tabby and Sissy. Monroe served in the United States Navy during WWII in Western Europe and northern seas. While living in Erlanger, KY, Monroe worked for Bass and Company, and then Stillpass oil. After moving to Nashville in 1979, he headed the transportation department of Opryland Hotel. He began driving for Buck White and the Whites, Ricky Skaggs, Garth Brooks and their bands in the 1980s. To them, he was Floyd, and all enjoyed many, many safe miles of travel and music. He drove a shuttle, transporting pilots , flight attendants and passengers to their planes at the Nashville airport for the last eighteen years of his working life. He retired in 2007. Floyd was a member of First Baptist Church of Hermitage. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at St. Thomas Hospital for their excellent care, and to the staff at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas for their love and concern during the last four days of his life. Visitation will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Shute Lane on Thursday afternoon, March 15th from 4 -8 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 12 Noon in the chapel, with burial to follow.
