To Angela and family, I worked with Eric in St. Thomas during his time at Yacht Haven Grande.  Angela, he talked about you and Sophia all the time and it was clear how much he loved both of you.  Eric and I got on like a house on fire from the first minute we met and we had lots of laughs and good times.  He was incredibly smart, had a wicked sense of humor and above all was kind and compassionate-although you probably knew that.  I am beyond sorry for you loss.  Deb Capone

I offer my deepest condolences to Eric’s family and all who loved him. Peace be with you all now and in the days ahead. 

I first meet Eric in junior high. Eric and I worked together as office aides in 8th grade at Hardin Central. Oh, the stories we could tell of things we witnessed in that office. There was never a dull moment. Years later, we could recall something that happened during that year and immediately burst into laughter. 

Our friendship continued into high school at East Hardin. We had many classes together and were active in Beta and other school activities. 

Eric was always one of the coolest guys in the room. He always had a smile on his face - a beautiful smile - and he had the best laugh. He would throw his head back and let out a good “HA!”. He was very intelligent, kind, considerate, thoughtful and generous. He was a preppy dresser - a true fashionista. He knew designers and labels quite well, especially well for a teenager. He took a lot of pride in his appearance.  

We reconnected on social media many years ago. I loved following along with his travel and social adventure updates. I believe we can all agree, Eric loved live music and always seem to land in the front row. I’m glad he loved sharing photos and videos for his friends to enjoy, too. 

Eric was such a good guy and a wonderful friend to many. He will be dearly missed. While his life was cut way too short, I do believe he made each day count and lived it to the fullest. I’m grateful our paths crossed and forever grateful for his friendship.  

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.

I always knew that Eric would be my best man when I got married even though we had gone our separate ways over the years.

There was nobody else that I would have chosen to be my best man than Eric.

We will miss you.

Eric was and always will be a part of our family.  He was like a brother to all of us.  

We have great childhood memories and we will miss you.

My Sister Carrie, Eric and I always enjoyed Halloween and going trick or treating together.

We will always cherish those Halloween moments we had together as kids.

Eric and I were childhood best friends.  We spent almost every weekend either at his house or mine.  We also went to church together.

I will never forget those days that we spent  together growing up as kids.

Linda was my other Mom as I was growing up and I will always appreciate everything you did for me and I am so sorry that you and your family have lost Eric.

I will miss you Eric.

I am lucky to have called Eric my friend. He was so sweet, thoughtful, smart, funny and extremely cool. He was there for me when my mom passed away and I could not have made it through that time without him. He always made me laugh and I cherish our talks and memories of fun times we had at concerts and other adventures . He loved his family deeply. My deepest sympathy and love goes out to his Mom and to Angela, Sophia and Rudie as you navigate this unbearable loss. Eric was a true light in this dark world and made everyone and everything he came in contact with better for having known him. There was no one else like him. I will miss him.

Our friendship was the rare kind. I'm so grateful to have known Eric. He made laughter in the dreariest of times. Long ago I was anxiously awaiting a test result regarding a possible brain tumor.  Eric handed me a plain paper packet where he had written Head Hurtin' Pills.  Inside was a bag of M&Ms - he did awesome stuff like that. He holds a permanent seat in my heart's VIP section, I loved him dearly.  I really feel for you Angela, you were his number one.  My Eric song is Yazoo's Only You.

I met Eric when trekking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal in 2009. He was such a great character, larger than life and always fun to be with. We had a fab time trekking and had stayed in touch on FB etc even tho we lived on different continents.  I’d hoped that one day we would share a beer together again but, alas, the great man has been taken from us.  
RIP Eric, you will be greatly missed.

I am so deeply saddened about Eric's untimely death. To Linda, Angela, and the entire family, I express my sympathy.


The last time Eric and I got together and he met my daughter who is now 21. This is in Santa Rosa Beach where I now live.

I was blessed to meet Eric whilst walking the Annapurna Circuit with my friend Alan in Nepal many years ago.
Although Eric and I were never to meet again the internet kept us in touch.
Eric’s love of life, thirst for adventure, sense of humour and gentle nature shone as bright as the amazing mountains.
As we walked we chatted day after day and Eric’s strength of character and quick wit impressed.
The end of the circuit came and Eric decided that his next challenge was the walk to Everest Base Camp and off he went, we kept in touch via email on his adventures as I and my friend Alan went back to London, England.
Eric will be missed by all that were lucky enough to meet him and as he travelled the world he will be missed all over the world.
My thoughts are with Eric’s family and friends and I will be raising a mug of tea and salute my friend, and I know so many others will be doing the same.

Eric and I became friends during his senior year of HS. While we grew apart after he went to Babson and I went to Memphis, I’ll always cherish his loving friendship and his joyful laughter. We both loved skateboarding and got the chance to attend the 1988 Vertical Championship contest together. (Tony Hawk won). I found a couple of photos my Dad took.

Eric was a fabulous guy who I met over 25 years ago when he visited the U.K.  We stayed in touch and he swung by a couple of times.
He was such a great guy and I loved his energy, zest for life and boy did he make me laugh.
I'll miss him and send love and condolences to his much loved family and friends

Eric and I met in Munich, Germany. We quickly became great friends, hanging out on the weekends and enjoying the Munich single lifestyle. We discovered that we were brothers in ΑΚΨ. Man, we had some great times together and always laughing. Eric was always reliable and willing to help when he could.  One of my fondest memories was the ski trip below to Kitzbühel where I “learned how to snowboard” but not really; just got beat up and battered. We had some great times together. Then Eric moved to Moscow. We kept in touch at a distance over the years. I will dearly miss his friendship. 

I’ve had the utmost pleasure of working with Eric for the last several years.  He made deals fun.  Whether it was assessing the financials, gauging both sides’ needs, or helping the parties “bridge the gap,” he made sure that terms were fair and that both sides felt like they won.  

He was honestly one of the finest clients that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.   He helped me become a better lawyer.  

My prays are with Miss Linda and his entire family.
