Donald F Combs

Mr. Combs was a member of Lafayette Church of Christ in Lafayette, TN and served in the United States Navy. In 1950, he married Ina Garland and, together, they had five children. Later in life he married Joanne Bowen and Georgia Reeves.

Mr. Combs was a book binder in the printing industry. He even learned the German language in order to operate a printing press. He was employed in the printing industry in both Danville, IL and Nashville, TN. Mr. Combs also decorated store windows throughout Illinois and the Nashville area. He loved to entertain children with magic tricks and gymnastics.

Mr. Combs is preceded in death by his father, Bennett Albert Combs; his mother, Helen Margarite (Martin) Combs and his step-mother Louise Combs and his seven siblings, Richard, Albert, Geraldine, Norma Jean, Shirley, Dorothy and Vivian.

Mr. Combs is survived by his five children Daniel Combs (Lynn Corlew), Steven Combs, Lonna Combs, Tina Tayor, and Jason Combs (Judy); step-children Gary Denton and Debbie Bowers, his grandchildren Jessie Combs, Carla Keeler, Bethany Combs-Williams, John Combs, Ali Combs, Justin Combs, Aaron Warner, and Brandon Carwile; 7 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 10am until 1pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
