Delores Mae Clydesdale, age 93, of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Delores was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1928 to parents, Robert and Hilda Studholme.
After graduating from Olney High School in Philadelphia, Delores married Thomas A. Clydesdale Jr. on September 11, 1948. Delores briefly worked as a Bell telephone operator, but left work to raise her five boys, all of whom graduated from Christian colleges. In 1984, Delores and Thomas retired and relocated to the Nashville area. After her beloved Thomas passed in 2008, Delores moved into the McKendree Village, where she enjoyed crafts, day trips, special music, and bingo. Most of all, Delores loved spending time with her family – her sons & their wives, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She will be long remembered for her love for her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and her positive and friendly attitude toward the nurses and staff of McKendree Health Center.
Delores was preceded in death by her father, Robert A. Studholme; mother, Hilda Schroder Studholme; loving husband of 59 years, Thomas A. Clydesdale, Jr.; and her brother, Joseph Studholme.
Delores is survived by her sons Joseph Clydesdale (Judy), David Clydesdale (Celeste), Steven Clydesdale, Edward Clydesdale (Lindsay Crawford Born, fiancé), and Timothy Clydesdale (Dawn); grandchildren Raymond Clydesdale, Gregory Clydesdale, Jonathan Clydesdale, Courtney Garrett, Jacqueline Brown, Jackson Clydesdale, Sierra Clydesdale, Jonah Clydesdale, and Grace Clydesdale; and great-grandchildren Kadie Clydesdale, Oliver Clydesdale, Charlie Clydesdale, Evelyn Clydesdale, Augie Clydesdale, Joshua Clydesdale, Jayla Clydesdale, Josiah Clydesdale, Rhett Garrett, Charlie Garrett, and Theodore Brown.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends for Mrs. Clydesdale on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Tulip Grove Room of the funeral home. Dr. Timothy and Rev. Gregory Clydesdale will officiate. Following the service, Mrs. Clydesdale will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Cross at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
