David was a good friend of mine for so long. After I left the seed business my almost daily contact with him stopped, but I never lost respect for him. He was a good man and I miss him.

I worked for GreenSeed Co. from 1995-2000; as the Alabama sales representative. My interview was with David Gribble & Allen Rossof what a pair to impress. I was ask a question about a seed that I had never herd of around Kentucky or Tennessee, dropping my head I answered no. David looked straight at me and sniggered , Allen they don’t use that where he is from. I felt  a glimmer of hope. Mr. Rossof then ask me a logistical question if I had to make quick deliver how I would do it in a little sports car my wife was in outside. They both look at me and I quickly responded I drove an F250 pickup and would be a to handle that job. I was hired, given a car and a map and told to get to Alabama. David called me every work day at 7:30 AM and became a mentor to me until the day Agri-bio-tech went bust. I struggled with the decision to seek work elsewhere due to my relationship with David. I am proud to have worked with David and appreciate all he taught me.

Dear Linda, Mike and Family,
I first met David shortly after I went to work for Green Seed Co. as a salesman in Rice, Virginia - July 1998 while attending a sales meeting in Abington, VA. As the "new guy" I somehow ended up in the back seat of a car in between David and maybe Butch Johns. Going along, David asked in that big booming voice and that very TN accent "Allen, what's that growing rite there?" I replied, "lespedeza". "What kind" he replied. My answer - "Sericea" - which was correct for the "new guy" win! Shortly afterward, Butch recanted the events of the quiz saying David had given me a nice compliment by saying to him "That Allen, I like him!" I have thought of that story many times. A simple compliment that made me feel like I was part of the group. Remember the good times you shared with David, trying not to dwell on the sadness of the loss. Trust in Him and hold tight to each other. My prayers are with you!

Linda, Mike and family may I extend my deepest and sincerest
condolences during this time of loss and heartache. David will always be held close in my heart and memories . He took me under his wing in 1974 when I first arrived at Green Seed Co. His knowledge, kindness, and support provided me with the tools I needed to spend 38 years in the seed industry. Even after I moved on with other companies, David continued to be my  friend and business associate. His vast knowledge of the seed world gave me someone I could go to and seek advice. While his passing brings tears to so many we are all truly blessed to have David Gribble be a part of our life journey. God bless your family and may his grace and mercy shine upon you during the days ahead and throughout your life journeys.

Linda, Mike and family,  I am so sorry to hear of David's death.  He was always so kind to me at Green Seed Company.  His knowledge and love of the seed business were incomparable.   I will always remember my brother-in-law and his wife could not keep the dalmation dog they had.   David and Linda were kind enough to take the dog and give it a good home.  Linda even came to her birthday party later.  I am lucky to have known David.  All of you will be in my prayers.
