Daisye S Ramsay

RAMSAY, Daisye Sheppard Age 91, of Old Hickory, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on December 21, 2011. Daisye was a native of Hartsville, TN and was married to the late Fred S. Ramsay with whom she worked in real estate. Daisye, or DaDa, was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an accomplished artist, a community leader, and was a founder of the Lakewood Theater Company. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time on Old Hickory Lake throughout her lifetime. She was a long time member of Cedar Creek Yacht Club, the Ladies Hermitage Association, and Madison Church of Christ. Daisye was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Ramsay and daughter, Gena Ramsay; brothers, Richard and Frank Sheppard, and sisters, Ellen Wilkinson, and Jennie Benz. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Ramsay and Sara Lynn Hunter (Bill); grandchildren, Myers E. Brown II (Angie), William Mason Hunter IV (Danielle), Natalie Eugenia Dillard (Greg), and Sara Elizabeth Pegg (Zach), and great-grandchildren, Gabe Dillard, Easton Dillard, Morgan Brown, Ava Hunter, Jill Hunter, and William Mason Hunter V and by her brother, Dr. Ralph Sheppard and sisters, Dora Palmer and Sara Garrett. Services and Interment at Hermitage Memorial Gardens on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 11 a.m., Dr. Ken Dye officiating. Visitation on Tuesday December 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. and two hours preceding the services on Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of Daisye Ramsay.
