Connie C Neely, 96, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away Friday July 14, 2023. She was born September 9, 1926 in Alexandria, Tennessee, to John and L.V. Campbell. She grew up in the Alexandria area and graduated from Watertown High School. Following graduation, Connie moved to Nashville where she work at a number of different jobs.
She met Ernest Neely when he came in to get a haircut and were married in 1949. They spent 70 wonderful years together. Connie and Ernest did everything together. Travel was their greatest passion and would tour the United States in their motorhome. Florida was a favorite destination, especially Port of Isles. Spending time at the lake whether it was Cordell Hull Lake or Center Hill Lake was also a favorite destination. Together, they enjoyed fishing, skiing, and spending time on the water. Connie retired from Avco where she worked for over 30 years in the payroll department. Connie was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church, Nashville.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, John and L.V. Campbell; brother Gype Campbell; sister, Sarah Agnew; brother-in-law, James Agnew; niece, Donna Meyers; and nephew, Les Neely.
Connie is survived by her niece, Cathy (Rick) Arnold, Greg Meyers , nephew by marriage, Deb Neely, niece by marriage, great nephews Kevin (Lori) Neely, Kris (Jennifer) Neely , Doug (Kimberly) Arnold and Nick Meyers great nieces, Becca Arnold and Shelby (Michael) Maldonado, close cousin Billie Register and a great friend Barbara Briley.
A visitation will be held from 4:00- 8:00pm Tuesday August 1, 2023 at the Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN. and Wednesday August 2, from 11:00-1:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00Pm in the Tulip Grove Chapel of Hermitage Funeral Home. Interment to follow Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers; Kevin Neely, Kris Neely, Nick Meyers, Rick Arnold, Becca Arnold and Brenton Austin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Arlington United Methodist Church, 1360 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37217.
