Anita was born in Nashville, TN on September 11,1975 to Kaye and Jerry Sellars. She had two sisters, Angie Elkins (Sellars) and Kim Sellars. Although she lost her father while she was very young, she gained a stepfather, Travis Hearn, and two brothers, Chip and Trevor Hearn. Anita loved her family very much and often spoke of God’s love when bringing her “Dad”, Travis, into their lives. Anita was active in her church, had many friends, and enjoyed her job at Opryland Amusement Park. She Graduated from Mount Juliet High School in 1993.
Anita attended Austin Peay State University and graduated in December 1996. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. It was there she met her husband, Chip Jackson, and they were married in March 1996.
Anita had two beautiful children, Shelby Thompson (Jackson) and Cole Jackson. She was a member of Hermitage Church of the Nazarene where she shared her passion for teaching children as a Sunday School teacher and working with Mother’s Day Out. Her Sunday School class always held a special place in her heart and she referred to them as "her kids” all of her life.
Anita is preceded in death by her mother, Kaye Hearn; her daddy, Jerry Sellars; her dad, Travis Hearn; her sister, Angie Elkins (Sellars); her grandparents, Paul and Evelyn Curtis; her father-in-law, Eugene Jackson, and her brother-in-law, Randy Jackson.
She is survived by her husband, Chip Jackson, her daughter, Shelby Thompson (DJ); her son, Cole Jackson (Sophia); her sister, Kim Sellars; her brother, Chip Hearn (Carol); her brother, Trevor Hearn; her nephews and nieces Josh, Greg, Abby, Caitlin and Cheryl; her mother-in-law, Virginia Jackson; her sister-in-law, Kim Jones; and her puppies, Lily and Alfie.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5pm - 7pm at Hermitage Church of Nazarene in the sanctuary. A Memorial Celebration of Life will follow at 7pm.
