Margaret Ann Meehan

Margaret Ann Meehan, 93, passed away at home, Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Born and raised in Jersey City, Margaret moved to the Parlin section of Old Bridge 57 years ago. She was a registered nurse for 20 years at Perth Amboy General Hospital retiring in 1977. Margaret was a member of the Jersey City Medical Center Alumni Association, and an original member of St. Bernadette Church, Parlin. She loved her family, her children & grandchildren, and babysitting.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1987; her daughter, Claire P. Cullinane; and her brothers: Ira, Thomas, & William Hanlon. She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Meehan; her daughter and son in law, Margaret Ann & Terence Sharkey; her daughter and son in law, Kathleen & William Acox; her son in law, John Cullinane; 12 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Dorothy Sheehy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10am at St. Bernadette Church, Parlin, NJ. Entombment will follow to St. Mary Cemetery, South Amboy, NJ.
