Josephine (DiPietro) Guarneri, 86, of Monroe Twp. died gracefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Michael and Josephine (Gilistro) DiPietro, Josephine lived in Brooklyn, NY most of her life before her retirement and subsequent move to the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan, NJ 25 years ago.
Josephine worked as a waitress for several years before joining Coney Island Jewish Geriatric Center in Brooklyn, NY where she was as a secretary for 10 years before her retirement in 1989.
Josephine was as an artist at heart. She loved animals, enjoyed playing bingo but above all else adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Josephine is predeceased by her beloved husband of 22 years Michael John Guarneri (1970), her dear sister Marion Pagnotta (2008) and her loving daughter Debbie Guarneri (2009). She is survived by her loving children Patricia Guarneri, Frank (and his wife Denise) Guarneri, Catherine (and her husband Joseph) Caccio and her adored grandchildren Michael Guarneri, Louis Guarneri, Joseph Caccio, Jr., Christopher Caccio, Alexis Caccio, Olivia Caccio and James Alicea.
Friends and Relatives are invited to attend visitation Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12noon Monday, August 24, 2015 at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 23 Manalapan Road STE 1, Spotswood, NJ 08884. A committal service will immediately follow in Holy Cross Burial Park & Mausoleum 840 Cranbury South River Road Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
