Donald Michael Petzold, 76, of Jackson Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14 at Care One at Raritan Bay Medical Center surrounded by family. He was a Vice-Principal at Cedar Ridge High School in Old Bridge Twp. For 26 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to this he worked for The State Home for Boys in Monroe Twp. for 10 years. A graduate of Rider University, he also was a real estate agent part time. He served on the Juvenile Conference Committee of Old Bridge and was a Life Member of the PTA in Old Bridge. Donald served in the US Army from 1954-1957, and the Army National Guard in Massachusetts for 2 years. Born in Lawrence, Mass., he resided in Jamesburg before moving here in 1973. He is predeceased by his son, the late Mark G. Petzold earlier this year, his brothers Arthur & Robert, Jr. Petzold, and a sister Betty. Donald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret G. nee Applegate Petzold, a daughter in law, Chona Petzold of Old Bridge, His grandchildren, Gunner Alexander, Cheyenne Krystal, Morgan Elizabeth & Jordan Alexa. Also surviving are his brother Leonard Petzold of New Hampshire, and two sisters, Rose Faulkner of Mass., and Marilyn Carter of New Hampshire and Fla.
