Shirley Rebecca (Evans) Montanino, 70, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 21, 2023. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
“Becky” as she was known by her family and friends was born on July 28, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Sidney and Oma Lee (McGavock) Evans. After attending Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri she graduated from Park College (now University) in Parkville, Missouri earning her BA in physical education. She married the love of her life Chris Montanino on April 13, 1985.
Becky was a FBI Special Agent for twenty-six years starting in Kansas City, then Chicago, New York City and then back to Kansas City where she was a member of the Society of Former Agents. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid golfer, and a well-known athlete, excelling at volleyball, softball, and swimming. She was a massive fan of KU basketball and football, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas. She will be sadly missed.
Her parents, her brother Thomas (Tommy) Evans, and her sister JoAnn Reagan, precede Becky in death. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years Chris Montanino and son Andrew Montanino of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two nieces Tammy Edler, of High Ridge, MO and Tracy Evans, of Hillsboro, MO, along with her two step sons Greg Montanino, of Kansas City, Kansas and Christiaan Montanino, of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
Becky will be cremated according to her wishes. Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 7851 West 119th Street Overland Park, Kansas. Immediately following the memorial service a "Celebration of Life" honoring the life of Becky Montanino will take place at St. Andrew Golf Course Banquet Hall 11099 West 135th Street Overland Park, Kansas.
