Lanelle was an active member of PEO, Chapter FX, in Kansas City and was loved and admired by all of her sisters in the chapter.  She was especially an inspiration for us as she faced her recent major health issues.  She was prepared to fight the long battle back to health, but she also openly acknowledged her deep faith and was at peace with whatever was God's will in the situation.  She taught us to approach our problems with dignity, strength, grace, and faith.  She was a special woman who will be greatly missed by her sisters.

When Derrill introduced me to Lanelle, they became my inspirational couple. Lanelle will always have a special place in my heart.  I know she was filled with Christ's spirit, since her life reflected this scripture from Galatians-"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. "  Lanelle, you made such a difference in this world. 

I met LaNelle at a ladies bible study at Redeemer Presbyterian church in Overland Park, KS this past summer.  I was so blessed by her humor, joy in the Lord, and wise words that she contributed to the group discussion.  I remember her sharing that she had been a widow 3 times... and followed up with a smile by saying a relative recommended she get a new hobby!  :-) She shared about when her sister went to be with the Lord as she and her sisters were singing.  Needless to say, she left an imprint on this mom of littles and gave me a picture of the type of godly woman I hope to be in years to come.  It was obvious that she rested in Christ's loving care for her, in all circumstances, even as she asked for prayer about the spot on her lungs.  I'm so surprised to see her given name was Ruby... and yet it seems fitting, as she has worth far beyond rubies!  Jesus - thank you for LaNelle!  Bless her family and friends and comfort them as You comforted her time and again.  As you met her in her times of grief, meet her family and friends who will feel her absence.  Pour out Your Holy Spirit and the comfort and peace Your Spirit gives through Christ. Thank you, Lord, for putting Your fingerprints all over LaNelle and for bearing much fruit of Your Spirit through her for us to enjoy.  Lord, You were glorified in her life, I pray now You will be glorified in her death.  Continue to use her life to leave a heritage of faith for future generations.  Thank You, Lord, for giving me a glimpse of Your good work in her life. Surely goodness and mercy followed her all the days of her life and she is dwelling in the house of the Lord forever!  Amen!

From Arkansas to Kansas, Amarillo & Oklahoma City...Christmas, weddings & reunions (hello Mexico Beach).  Your Mom was like a mom to me, especially after my Mom died (2014).  Now she is in heaven, happy, whole & in love with meeting Jesus.  Memories for us to cherish, love for us to share.
