Ronald Dean Zordel, 69, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend to everyone he knew.
“Ron” as he was known by his family and friends was born on November 13, 1955 in Ransom, Kansas to Dwayne Howard and Mary Jane (Braun) Zordel. He attended and graduated from Olathe High School Class of 1975.
He enjoyed tinkering with his model cars and trucks, his tropical fish, watching Westerns on television along with crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed.
Ron is preceded in death by his father Dwayne Zordel, brothers Randall Zordel, Rodney Zordel, uncle Leonard Braun and his aunt Margaret Cornell.
He is survived by his loving mother Mary Jane Platt of Olathe, Kansas, brother Roger Zordel of Olathe, Kansas, sister-in-law Lynne Zordel of Omaha, Nebraska and his uncle Gerald Braun and his wife Debra. Left behind to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews Erin, Robert, Randy, Heather and Kayleigh.
Ron will be cremated according to his wishes. A Celebration of Life gathering is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. A private family Inurnment will take place in Olathe Memorial Cemetery Olathe, Kansas.
