Robert "Cappy" William Smith

He was born January 21, 1963 in Kansas City, MO. Rob served 4 years in the Marine Corp as an MP in California. Rob later came home to earn his Associate degree in Business. Cappy worked as a bouncer at Funky Town and was known for his comedy acts on and off the stage. Cappy was the only bouncer around that could throw you out of the club all the while making you laugh. He also worked as a bouncer at New Country in Olathe. Rob also worked for several years at FLEXcon in their shipping and receiving department in Olathe. Most recently Rob worked as the Assistant Manager for the last 9 years at the Days Inn Motel/Hotel in Olathe, Kansas.

Rob was a fun-loving guy and was always the life of the party. He was called “Teddy Bear” by his nieces.

Robert was preceded in death by Father Harry Dean Smith and his Mother, Bonnie Linnet Smith.

He is survived by brother, Randy C. Smith and wife Sandy; brother, Lesslie Fitzgerald and wife Vera Mae; nieces and nephews: Coleman and Lorey Smith, Candice and Brett Schuler, Emily and Wes Medders, Kelsey and Conner Fink, Tina Fitzgerald and Cheyenne Fitzgerald; great nieces and nephews: Dylan Smith, Dalton Smith, Makensie Schuler, Hudson Schuler, Harley Fitzgerald, Blaze Fitzgerald and Hazel Fitzgerald.

Rob “Cappy” will be highly missed with fond memories by all family and friends plus everyone who knew him or came across him in their life. Cappy had a personality that was as big as he was and you would never forget him if you had the pleasure of knowing him.

We Love you Rob “Cappy” and May You Rest in Peace and give Dad and Mom hugs in Heaven, from all of us who remain on this earth. We give Big Bear Hugs to You with our never-ending Love and Respect. We will see you again someday Little Brother.
