Robert "Bob" Dudley Martin

Robert D. “Bob” Martin, 88, of Olathe, KS passed away on November 8, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th from 10-11 am with a memorial service starting at 11 am at the First Christian Church of Olathe, 200 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS 66061. Bob was born on March 21, 1929 in Wister, OK. He was employed by ATSF Railroad for 40+ years working as a Dispatcher, Train Master, and Rules Examiner. He retired from the railroad in Emporia, KS in 1986. Bob married Martha “Joan” Vinson in Arkansas City, KS in 1951. Bob retired to the Branson, MO area and was a member of the Jayco Camping Club. In 2002 he moved to Olathe, KS. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a Deacon for many years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Willie & Lucille Martin and 2 sisters Billye Caudell & Claryene Rowzee, all of Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Connie Knoeppel (Bob), son Steve Martin (Brenda), 4 grandchildren: Holly Everman (Johnny), Chris Knoeppel, Ashley Martin (Burn Cook), Matt Martin (Jordan), 2 great grandchildren: Londyn & Mila Cook, 1 brother Bockey Martin & 1 sister Ruth Vaughn, both from Wister, OK.
