Rebecca Cabinay Ledesma

For the greater half of her life, Rebecca C. Ledesma lived in Antipolo, Philippines. She was married to Leonardo Ledesma who served in the army during WWII. While he was away, she raised their 10 children. Rebecca loved to cook, sew, garden, and spend time with her family. Many of her children moved to the U.S. as they got older and in 1988, she immigrated to Kansas to help take care of her growing pool of grandchildren. She also worked for McDonald’s for over 10 years enjoying one of her favorite activities, cooking for people. In 2003 she moved on to California to share herself with more family. Rebecca returned to Kansas in 2017 to enjoy a new set of great-grandchildren that kept her entertained until she passed.

She is preceded by her children: son, Julio; daughter, Sonia; and son, Junior.

She is survived by daughter, Zeni (David) Tarling; son, Morris (Babes) Ledesma; daughter, Lourdes (Gary) Snyder; daughter, Cora (Nyle) Schafhauser; daughter, Belinda (Cliff) Spalding; daughter, Rose Ledesma; daughter, Mary Jane (Ted) Padiernos; granddaughter, Hannah (David) Tatian; granddaughter, Michi Sato; grandson, Ulysses Tulid; grandson, Giles Houliston; grandson, Craig Houliston; granddaughter, Kate Roberts; grandson, Tyler (Meghan) Spalding; granddaughter, Espee Ledesma; granddaughter, Gia Ledesma; grandson, Mark Padiernos; grandson, T.J. Padiernos; granddaughter, Vanessa Conti; grandson, Gabriele Conti; and 8 great-grandchildren: C.J., Leanna, E.J., Lilly, Ani, Holly, Violet, and Leo.

A visitation for Rebecca will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061. A funeral mass will occur Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 21650 W. 115th Terrace, Olathe, KS 66061 with burial to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 S. Black Bob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062.
