Raymond J. Vohs, 87, of Olathe, Kansas, entered into his eternal reward on Thursday, June 15, 2015. He was born to Herman and Anna Vohs, December 29, 1927, in Plainville, Kansas. Raymond was one of seven children.
Raymond moved to Osborne in 1953 when he married Lois Rae Cornwell. They had two children, Debbie and Richard. Raymond worked his farm for many years. Upon retirement, Raymond helped with the greens-keeper's duties at Shady Bend Golf Course. He loved taking care of the greens and took pride in keeping the course in top shape! In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf as often as he could.
In 2010 Raymond and Lois moved to Olathe, Kansas, to be closer to family. He enjoyed playing golf with new friends and enjoyed coffee in the morning at the clubhouse in his neighborhood. Cheering on the Jayhawks and the Royals took up a lot of his time! He enjoyed going to games when he got the chance.
Raymond is remembered as a quiet man with a big heart. He stood strong on his principles and was generous to his family. He was devoted in his Catholic faith and showed kindness in the way he dealt with others. During his time in Osborne, he was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus. He faithfully attended Prince of Peace during his time in Olathe.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lois, of Olathe, his daughter Debbie Christ and her husband Paul Walz, of Lincoln, Nebraska, his son, Richard and his wife Christine Vohs, of Olathe, and four grandchildren: Vance, Katie, Stephen, and Abigail.
