Peggy Joann Hamblin, 75, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Peggy was born on October 28, 1946 in Atchison, Kansas to Pearl Marie Pool. She was a member of the Cat Fancier’s Association and cherished her years of raising and showing Abyssinian cats. Peggy had a great love for animals and was always on the lookout for those in need. She rescued many over the course of her life including cats, dogs, rabbits, and even a skunk. She loved to shop and enjoyed spoiling her family with gifts. She was always looking for that one special gift to surprise a certain family member. She will be sadly missed.
Peggy is preceded in death by her mother and father Pearl and Richard F. Krause, three brothers: Carl Johnston, William Johnston, James Johnston and one sister Barbara Bradley. She was married to Daniel D. Hamblin for 53 years and from that union, she has two loving daughters: Lisa Moreland and her husband 1SG Terry Moreland of Leesville, Louisiana, and Danette Smith of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren; Terry T.J. Morris Jr., Mallory Townsend (Matt), Paige Medlin, Hannah Thompson (Laramie), Cody Moreland, Sterling Smith and six great great-grandchildren; Harper, Lilly, Bellamy, Brian, Jackson and soon to arrive in June, Milisia.
