Lori Lynn Clinton

Lori Clinton, 59, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, February 27, 2023, after a fierce battle with cancer. Lori was born on November 24, 1963, to Orville and Delores Jean (Mooney) Clinton in Paola, Kansas.

Lori graduated from Olathe North High School in 1982 and completed the cosmetology program at Hayes Academy of Hair Design in Hays, Kansas in 1984. Lori spent the next 15 years as a stylist before returning to school to pursue a degree in Social Work at Johnson County Community College. While taking an ASL class at JCCC, a professor convinced Lori she should become an ASL interpreter. She took his advice and pursued a career as a sign language interpreter. Since graduating from JCCC in 1999 Lori has spent the last 24 years interpreting in a variety of settings for members of the deaf community locally and nationally through video relay technology.

Lori was known to her family and friends as "Aunt Lori" or "RiRi". When not working you could always find Lori with her beloved dogs, hanging out with friends, working in her yard, or enjoying the water. She was known as a kind and caring person who was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Lori is survived by her brother Rodney (Pam) Clinton of Parker, Kansas, numerous nieces and nephews, and her fur babies Sampson and Kovu. Lori is preceded in death by her parents Orville Clinton Jr., Jean, and Melvin Dell, and brothers John and Rick Clinton.

In honor of her love of animals, donations can be made to Great Plains, SPCA in Merriam, KS, or KC Pet Project Adoption Center, Overland Park, KS.

Visitation is Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 5-7 PM at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 East Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 10-11 AM at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 East Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas. A committal service will follow at 11:30 AM at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 South Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS.
