John Robert Ramsey, 85, of Belton, Missouri passed away at 5:06 pm on August 22, 2021. He was born in Beaumont, TX on May 30, 1936 to Jack Stanley Ramsey and Gladys Myers Ramsey. He joined the US Air Force after high school. While in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Remelia Ariz Delizo on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. On February 8, 1963 they were married in Naguilian, La Union Philippines. Soon after, he was stationed at Patrick AFB, Florida. While there, he loved to go fishing in the Banana River. During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed at several different bases in the United States before retiring in 1978. John and Remy decided to make Belton, Missouri their place of residence. They were married for 52 years. John enjoyed coin collecting, genealogy, and watching horror, sci-fi and old black and white movies. He also enjoyed taking care of his cat Waffles.
He is survived by daughter Diane Ramsey and granddaughter Emily Sawyer of Olathe, Kansas, his beloved cat Waffles of Belton, Missouri and his brother S. Martin Ramsey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
A gathering for John will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM.
