Janet K. (Young) Hanna, 63, Overland Park, passed away Jan. 7, while in hospice care. The second youngest of five children, Janet was born Aug. 29, 1955, in Marysville, KS, and graduated from Emporia (KS) High School. She was a dental hygienist before joining KCMO Police as a dispatcher, earning praise for her tireless work during the 1977 flood. Janet’s three girls were her world and she always made sure they knew how proud she was of them. She always kept a lovely home where she enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds, her many pets through the years, and spending time with her family, most of all her five grandchildren. Survivors include husband John, daughters April Beckwith (Ken), Lara Rassette (Chris), Brooke Erin Fisher (Jake), five grandchildren, and four siblings. Visitation Saturday, January 12 from 10am-12pm at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E Loula St, Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas City Hospice Foundation.
