Gloria J. Marrs

Gloria Janice Marrs, a devoted member of the Olathe, Kansas community, passed away on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 22, 1935, in Ft. Stockton, Texas, Gloria grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe High School in 1952. She retired from Allied Signal, a career that reflected her dedication and work ethic.

Gloria was an active member of First Christian Church, where her faith and community involvement were central to her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Marrs, son James (Tony) Wilburn, and daughter Melinda (Mindy) Mitchell.

She is survived by her sister Joyce Alexander, son Thomas Wilburn, daughter-in-law Ilene Wilburn, grandchildren James Wilburn, Jason Hurd, Jeremy Hurd, Kristina Dukes, and Michael Wilburn, and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family extends gratitude to Hospice for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at McGilley & Frye in Olathe, KS with visitation beginning at 10:00 am on April 16th with Funeral service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
