Gerard Eugene Schmidt, 75, of Olathe, Kan. died Thursday February 17th at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kan. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Catholic Charities.
He was born August 9, 1935 in Hays Kansas to Frank and Bertha Schmidt.
Gerard is survived by his loving wife, Graciela of Olathe; His two sons, Jeff Schmidt of Eudora Kan., and Andrew Schmidt of Olathe, Kan.; His beautiful granddaughter, Lilliana Schmidt and his sisters, Rosemary Walters of Hays, Kan, Sister Mary Frances Marie of Long Island New York, and Wilma Augustine of Hays, Kan.
He will be missed by all who knew him and will be in our hearts forever.
