SGM (retired) Frank Clifford Stewart, 84, of Olathe, KS passed away December 14, 2014, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Frank was born on December 16, 1929 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He was a veteran of both the Korean War (6 years) and Vietnam War (1 year) and was highly decorated from both conflicts. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1977 after 30 years of honorable service.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Stewart and mother Eva Kirby, his sisters Dorothy Scialdone, Marjorie Woodward, and brother Robert Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife Zada Stewart, 5 children and their spouses, Michael and Deborah Stewart, Patricia Piecewicz and her fiance Raymond Baillargeon, Kevin and Cheryl Stewart, Cathy and John Spiezio and Leah and Jesse Barron.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Michael DeBlois, Jennifer Ferrara, Sean Stewart, John Piecewicz, Mary Mustard, Kelly Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Ben Stewart, Jessica Sweeney, Rachel Sweeney, Eileen Sweeney, Jessica Barron, Justin Barron, Joshua Barron and two great-grandchildren Eli Bouknight and Arya Stewart.
Frank loved reading books, watching and collecting movies and he was an avid artist, journalist and photographer.
His favorite quote is "Old soldiers never die, they just fade away" by General Douglas MacArthur.
