Frank Lee Reed

Frank Lee Reed, 79, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 13, 2017. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met.

Frank was born on January 15, 1938 in Olathe, Kansas to John L. and Mary L. (Kroll) Reed. He attended Olathe High School. He met the love of his life Roberta M. Long and they were married on December 23, 1974 in Lamar, Missouri.

Frank was an over the road truck driver for over fifty years. He was a member of Local Union #41 and worked for many trucking firms in the area. Nothing gave Frank more pleasure than spending time with his wife and family at their vacation home out in the country. He especially enjoyed his two great grandsons, Paxton and Easton.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Reed, son, Frank (Skeeter) Reed Jr., brother, Guy Ralph Reed and sister, Mary Ann Bailey. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years Roberta (Bert) Reed of the home, son, Perry Reed and his wife Debbie of Olathe, Kansas and brother, Jim Reed of Edgerton, Kansas. Left behind to cherish “Pa” is his grandson, Jordan Overstreet and his wife Jenny and his two great grandsons, Paxton and Easton Overstreet. He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.Thursday, March 23rd at Church of the Harvest 14841 Blackbob Road Olathe, Kansas. Interment in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 Blackbob Road Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22nd at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas.
