She was born July 26, 1937 in Emporia, Kansas to the late Lee and Bertha Van Sickle. Elsie graduated from Emporia High in 1955. She lived in Prairie Village for 45 years, more recently in Olathe and Overland Park. Elsie was a feisty, headstrong, independent woman who enjoyed life and ran like the Energizer Bunny. She was the consummate Mom, working tirelessly for her children while still making time for all the sports and other activities they were involved in. Elsie was a generous spirit, always thinking of others. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and fishing. Elsie worked in the medical field for most of her life, retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City in 1998 after 17 years of service.
Preceding her in death are husband Jack Adams, brother Ralph Van Sickle, and sister Esther Rich. Elsie will be dearly missed by her four children and their families: Sheri Hansen and husband Randy of Sugar Land, Texas; Kevin Nail and wife Liz of Olathe, Kansas; David Nail and wife Camilla of Omaha, Nebraska; and Bruce Nail of Lexington, Missouri; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Elsie is also survived by two siblings, Raymond Van Sickle and Evelyn Frasier of Emporia, Kansas
