Deborah Diana Kirk, 69, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met.
Deborah was born on December 11, 1950 in Weeping Water, Nebraska to Wilbur Roy and Ruth Irene (Gillespie) Marsh. She attended and graduated from Olathe High School. She enjoyed the casinos, garage sales, crocheting and her special projects with arts and crafts. Deborah enjoyed watching the old (black and white) movies on television, playing pool along with watching the Kansas City Royals, the “Super Bowl Champions” Kansas City Chiefs.
Deborah worked at, Deluxe Check Printer, A&L Underground and Comanche Construction. She enjoyed spending time with her family but nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
Deborah is preceded in death by her father Wilbur Marsh, mother Ruth Capp, step-father Michael Capp, husband Gary R. Kirk, brother’s Jim Marsh, Steve Marsh and her sister Mary Sue Bottarini.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Gimson (James Perez) of Belton, Missouri and Angela Carvalho (Pete Fowler) of Cleveland, Missouri and step-son Dusty Kirk. Left behind to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren, Michael Porter (Whitney Blake), Heather Porter, Derek Gimson, Christina Tripp, Daniel Ishmael, Alyssa Carvalho, Emilee Carvalho and Canyon Carvalho. Six great grandchildren, Leah Olson, Blake Porter, Jace Tripp, Ashton Ishmael, Coraline Zerger and Salem Baker. She will be sadly missed by her two brothers Paul Marsh of Shawnee, Kansas, David Marsh of Shawnee, Kansas and two-step brothers David Capp of Independence, Missouri and Richard Capp and his wife Mary of Cabool, Missouri.
Deborah will be cremated according to her wishes. A “Celebration of Life” is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas.
