Cynthia Jean Kelly, 63, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 2, 2019. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met.
Cynthia was born on February 8, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Norman D. and Luetta V. (Roberts) Ehmcke. She attended and graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School. Some of her hobbies and interests in life were, gardening, birds, building bird houses, furniture painting and square dancing. Cynthia also enjoyed the times she spent with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the times she spent with her two grandsons, Jack Alan and Guy Gordon.
Cynthia was employed by the Olathe School District. Working in Food Service at Olathe East High School, Oregon Trail Middle School, Olathe South High School and at the Food Service Building in Olathe.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Luetta Ehmcke and her father-in-law, Patrick Kelly. Survivors include her two children, Bryan Kelly and his wife Melinda of Olathe, Kansas and Melissa L. Dubin and her husband Anthony R. Dubin II of Shawnee, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two grandsons, Jack Alan Kelly and Guy Gordon Kelly. She will be sadly missed by her mother-in-law Ruth Kelly, two sisters, Cheryl Skinner and Sherry Roberts along with their families.
“Celebration of Life” is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon May 18th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 east Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
