Cliff lived a life full to the end at age 79. Cancer may have ravaged through his body, but in the end it did not win. Jesus, the One he lived for, for his entire life, welcomed him home with open arms and said, Well done, Cliff, you have been a good and faithful servant. Now, go and greet those you’ve known and loved who are waiting to show you all around your new home for Eternity.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Evelyn Woolery. He was born in Bonners Ferry, ID as they traveled west from Thayer, KS to settle into farming in Eastern WA. Growing up as a farm boy taught him many skills of labor and discipline that served him well through life. Being raised in the Ephrata Nazarene Church gave him a solid spiritual footing to help fulfil his calling into ministry while in high school. Cliff and his younger brother, Lawrence, attended Northwest Nazarene College (University) in Nampa, ID. Cliff graduated college in 1966 with a degree in Business Administration and a heart for serving the Lord.
While in college, he met and married his sweetheart, Virginia Arndts, from Jamestown, ND. From their wedding on August 27, 1965, they have followed God’s leading thru 57 years of married life. Their family includes sons Doug married to Sean, of Kansas City, KS and Jeff married to Dana, of Olathe. Cliff and Virginia have five wonderful grandchildren, Allison and Brad of OK; Jackson, Blake and Jade of Olathe.
Christ Community Church in Olathe has been their church home for 20 years where Cliff has served on the Building and Grounds team.
He has owned and managed his own construction company under the name of Cliffbrook Construction. For the past 18 years he was the building manager for Tomahawk Properties in Olathe. Prior to that he has work experience with Shred-it Corporation, Mid America Nazarene College (1973-77), youth ministry in OK, Pastor Church in TX, manager of church campground in TX, builder and remodeling contractor in TX and OK.
His favorite past time activities were fishing, spending quality time with family and friends, reading Louis L’Amour books, and barbecuing/smoking meat for others to enjoy.
